Message from our co-founder

At Giving Voice Foundation, our mission is to inspire cross-generational conversations and connections to improve the health of older adults. We do this through advocacy, education, engagement, and storytelling.

If our mission speaks to you, we would be honored to be part of your lasting legacy through a planned gift. Together, we can serve others and support your personal legacy.

Planned giving offers several benefits for both donors and charities. For you – the donor – it can provide tax advantages, help with estate planning, and fulfill philanthropic goals. For Giving Voice Foundation – the charity – it provides a way to secure future funding and plan for long-term sustainability.

Below is a list of common types of planned gifts. Please speak to your attorney or financial advisor to include Giving Voice Foundation in your will or trust.

Types of Planned Gifts

Bequests

One of the simplest forms of planned giving, where a donor includes a charitable organization in their will or trust. The organization receives the gift after the donor’s death.

Charitable Gift Annuities

This arrangement allows a donor to make a contribution to a charity in exchange for a fixed annual payment for the rest of their life. The remaining balance goes to the charity upon the donor’s death.

Charitable Remainder Trusts

Donors place assets into a trust that provides them or their beneficiaries with income for a specified period. After this period, the remaining assets in the trust are transferred to the charitable organization.

Charitable Lead Trusts

This is the reverse of a charitable remainder trust. The trust provides income to the charity for a specified period, after which the remaining assets go to the donor’s heirs or other beneficiaries.

Life Insurance Policies

Donors can name a charitable organization as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy, or transfer ownership of a policy to the charity.

Retirement Accounts

Donors can designate a charitable organization as a beneficiary of their retirement accounts (such as IRAs). This can be a tax-efficient way to make a gift.

Donor-Advised Funds

These are philanthropic funds established by donors, who can then recommend grants to charitable organizations over time.

We are a registered 501(c)3 non profit organization.
